Cooling of all the machines is very vital in a power plant. Things stop working the way they are supposed to, when machines overheat. This is more in case of bigger power plants such as a 1000MW power plant as a huge amount of energy is produced by them. If we need to cool down the machines and keep the process running, we can use a special device called an air cooler.
So, the air cooler can cool things down using air, unlike air conditioners which work with water. Running STP in daylight is a good option for buildings for keeping machines at lower ambient temperatures where it is safe to take plant operating pressure and in big power plants. Air coolers do not work with water like other cooling methods. There is a special kind of air cooler which is generally used and it uses aluminium fins to cool down.
Aluminium fins are essential since they cool machines more effectively. They achieve this by creating greater surface area for heat to dissipate into the air. The more of the aluminium fins that are exposed to the air, the more heat can be transferred away.
